About the School and its students
In light of the growing needs for specialists in public policy analysis, the Maastricht Graduate School of Governance was founded in September 2004 by the University Board of Maastricht University.
The mission of the School of Governance is to train specialists who combine a high level of academic scholarship with leadership, in order to strengthen democratic governance in domestic and international organizations. It does so by offering a broad range of Master and PhD programmes, and combines the distinguished academic expertise of the faculties of Maastricht University and those of a worldwide network of external academic partners. Their joint efforts provide an academic forum to discuss, to discover and to learn in an open-minded atmosphere.
The Schools environment is critical and dynamic but friendly and human both for the staff and the students. The athmosphere at the School is often compared to a family-like environment, and our new building is compared to a house, in which all guests are very welcome.
